Welcome to Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm, reporting on what's going on here at the orchard. The Tree-Mendus Fruit country market is closed for the season. Our winter hours are Monday through Friday 10:00-2:00. If you need to reach us please call during regular business hours or e-mail us at any time.
All fruit crops are ripening 2 weeks early so far this year. Mother Nature has put spring in a rush! Because of early harvesting dates we will be opening early this year. As our schedule says June 8th, we will actually be opening May 25th! Our hours will be Wed-Mon from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The orchard will close at 5:30 p.m.
The Sweet Cherry crop looks Treemendus and we expect the first to be ready to harvest the last week of May with many more varieties of cherries ripening the following 4 weeks. Tart Cherries are expected to be ready Mid-June. Don't forget about our pitting facilities for your tart cherry harvest. You may wash, sort, and have your tart cherries pitted right here on the farm. It is always a good idea to bring a cooler to contain your fruit for the drive home.
Apricot harvesting will begin late June to early July. It's a beautiful crop this year and you won't want to miss it. We will have the waffle irons hot and ready to make you our famous Cherry Boat Waffles served with a cup of coffee or fresh apple cider. Also available is Gary's Pie Squares, a yummy treat fresh from the kitchen.
With the opening date of May 25th, we are looking at a fun filled summer. You may catch us at some of our farmers markets. We are in St. Charles, Ill every Friday from 7-1 and you can see us at Frankfort Ill every Sunday from 10-2. We start the markets in June when we start to harvest Cherries.
Need some Apple Cider or Cherry Juice. We have captured the 2011 harvest in a healthy 100% natural drink sure to please. We freeze the apple cider straight from the press to capture the absolute freshest flavor possible. We also have some natural cherry juice that has many beneficial ingredients to help with your aches and pains during the cold winter months. All of our juice products are made with our own Tree-Mendus fruit. Order some today and we will ship it to your front door.
When planning your summer events Tree-Mendus Fruit has accommodations for your family to make your visit more enjoyable. We offer a private "valley" picnic area for large groups, family reunions, or any gathering you may have. The valley comes with a pavilion and picnic tables to accommodate any size group. Call for reservations. For your fall visit you may want to consider renting an apple tree from our family tree orchard. This is a private orchard to "Rent-A-Tree" customers only. Our "Family Rent-A Tree" program allows families to "rent" an apple tree for the season. We take care of it; all you have to do is pick it! Bring the family and enjoy a picnic under your very own tree. Choose from apple varieties like, Mutsu, Jonagold, Golden Delicious, Rome, Jonathan, and Holiday.
Nancy is continually updating our listing for "e-news". This will be any updates on special events, harvesting, or fruit special's you may want to know about. Did you know in addition to U-Pick and we-pick fruit in season, Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm accommodates company picnics, group orchard tours and country dinners by reservation. Our recreation area is a private picnic area nestled in a valley surrounded by trees for privacy. A pavilion is also available in case of rain. So plan for next spring or summer now. Call during regular office hours to schedule your event.
