Do I have to pick my own fruit?
We are always
bringing in fresh picked fruit to our country store market, so you will always have the finest and freshest fruit to choose from. We do try to have all varieties ripe available for you and in the quantity to suit your specific needs. At Tree-Mendus Fruit
we take pride in our quality and freshness and have it available so you can take some Tree-Mendus Fruit home with you.
Do we serve
lunch or provide food?
Of corse we have plenty of fresh fruit to snack on!!! We have beverages to purchase and some snack food available.
We serve our famous Cherry or Apple Waffle Boats fresh from hot irons topped with whipped cream and our home made pie squares
that hit the spot with a cup of coffee or cider. We also have Apple Cider Slushers to cool you off after harvesting on a warm
summer day. They are 100% natural.
What to do upon arrival at Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm?
Make a brief stop at the country market to obtain
an orchard permit and then you will be ready to head to the orchard. Whether you go by your own car or our shuttle wagon (offered
most weekends, weather permitting) and take time to enjoy the scenery. Containers and all you will need for picking are provided. Treat yourselves to a Cherry Waffle Boat and cup of cider or coffee when finished picking!
Do we have wagon ride's?
Weather permitting,
we have wagon rides saturday and sunday's from 12:00 to 4:00 around our U-Pick orchard. Yes, it is free for those wanting to
pick-your-own fruit.
What else is there to do at Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm?
You’ll find our Tree-Mendus Country Market is a good place
to shop for delicious fruit products, honey, maple syrup, mustards, cookbooks, t-shirts, sweat shirts, country crafts and more. We have a picnic and playground area with nearby animal corral for everyone’s enjoyment. Pony rides in the orchard area are
available most weekends, weather permitting. Check our 2011 events calendar for weekend-specific events.
What is the International
Cherry Pit-Spit?
The Pit-Spit Championship is an annual event at Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm held the first Saturday of July annually. Qualifying
rounds are from 10:00 to 12:00 and you receive 3 tart cherries (with a donation to charity) and you can spit the pit. The top
10 spitters of your age bracket will move on to the championship. Yes, you can spit during qualifications more than once, however,
if someone is in line that hasn't had a chance to spit yet, they will be allowed to go before anyone that has already had a turn. Your top spit is the distance used to qualify you into the championship. At 1:00 p.m. the championship start’s with the
youngest youth group and continues on up to the championship. You will receive 3 cherries and 3 spits only in the competition. The furthest spit in each division wins. We do have a chicken lunch that is served with a minimal fee, and some concessions
are available. Don’t forget that you can visit our orchard and pick some cherries to take home.
Does Tree-Mendus Fruit ship products?
More
and more of our friends who have visited our farm have been calling to ask us to prepare gift baskets or special orders of fresh fruit,
jams, jellies, toppings and other items from our orchards and country market. We've selected some of the most popular items
from our country market and put together a selection of packages, gift baskets and other items that we think will bring memories of
country air and summer sunshine into your home at any time of the year. You can call us during regular business hours to place your
order or coming soon we will have an on-line secure web site right here for your ordering convenience.
Where is the best
place to store the fruit I pick?
In general, store your fruit in a cool spot. If you leave fruit out on your counter, make sure
you plan to eat it in the next day or two. When purchasing a quantity of fruit, because it is tree ripened and fresh picked,
many time's it will last longer. Keep most in the refrigerator and leave out what you plan to use right away. This way
you can take more Tree-Mendus Fruit home with you and enjoy the fresh home grown taste longer.
Can I purchase a fruit tree?
Yes, we
are currently selling a wide selection of fruit trees, and smaller fruits including Heritage Apple Trees. Supplies are limited
each year. You may pre-order if we don't have the variety you are looking for. Ask a Tree-Mendus associate for details.
Are
personal pets allowed on the Farm?
Yes and No. As of this time a pet may be brought on the farm but must be secured on a leash. Customers are responsible for their pet's actions and reactions. Pets are not allowed in the Country Store at any time.
Do you
have a picnic area?
Yes, we have a general area with picnic tables along with a playground. We ask that you be considerate of other's
using the area and only use the table's you need to accommodate your party. We would appreciate that trash is picked up and
put in cans available and please depart by closing time, 6:00 p.m.
We do have a private picnic area available to you as well; please call for pricing and reservations.
Can we go out to the orchard just to look around?
Unfortunately we cannot allow people just to go
out on the farm to go anywhere. The farm spreads close to 500 acres and it would be impossible to keep track of you. We
have routes in place for the area's we are utilizing for our customers and they must stay on them. There is a $10.00 min purchase
to go on the farm. (It does not cost $10.00 to go onto the farm; this is applied to your u-pick purchase).
