SWEET & TART CHERRIES

Here is one of our Tree-Mendus Friends picking tart cherries.

We grow over 15 varieties of Sweet Cherries. The harvesting season usually starts in mid June with the Cavalier and Viva. The harvesting continues through mid-July  with the Hartland, Sam, Rainier, Schmidt, Ulster, Royalton, Bing, Lapins, Hedelfingen, and more. Tart cherry harvest begins in July with Montmorency, and continues through July with the Balaton, Surefire, North star, and Meteor. These are great for pies, fresh eating, jam and jelly and easy to freeze.  

After picking your summer and winter supply of Tart Cherries venture down to our covered building to our pitting facilities.  Here you can wash, cool, and sort your fresh picked cherries and then send them through our pitter so your cherries will be ready to bake, preserve, freeze, or fresh eating without the hassle of pitting.  Don't forget to bring a cooler to transport your harvest home. 

If you choose not to pick-your-own, we will have a fresh supply of Sweet and Tart Cherries ready for you to take home.  You can even purchase picked, washed, and pitted cherries for your convience.  We have 10# containers and a 2# container ready for your favorite pie or preserve recipie.

Please keep in mind that mother nature has a way of speeding up or slowing down the ripening process so if you want a more detailed date on u-picking, or fresh picked shipping, please contact us closer to the date of harvest.
